What our pet parents say

I thoroughly enjoyed our unboxing of my first Ella & Co order. Because of this deliciousness, Farrow now weighs over 3kg, a whooping 1.98kg more than what she was at 8 weeks!

Jane - Mum to Farrow (Cocker)

I've been having some real difficulty finding a food for Oatie that he really loves and is good for him. He has had a poorly tummy which is incredibly frustrating for him no doubt. I have been looking into raw dog food and we are now testing Ella & Co. So far so good taste test wise!

Jane - Mum to Oatie (Terrier)

It’s easy to manage and handle - it doesn’t smell at all. The food is just fantastic, it’s made such a big difference to Monkey and we’re just so pleased. She’s maintained a really good weight and her bowel movements are way more regular. She seems much happier! She’s far more engaged and energetic and just eager for things. Not only that, but her scratching has completely stopped. Her skin is way healthier, and her coat is so shiny.

Grace - Mum to Monkey (Sprocker Spaniel)

From day one, she was really excited about it! Her fur is absolutely wonderful, we get lots of comments about how gorgeous her coat is and also the food is incredibly convenient to use.

What is freeze-drying & cold-pressing?

Freeze-drying is a method that removes moisture from the raw ingredients, creating 100% raw freeze-dried nuggets!

Cold-pressing is a process that gently presses natural ingredients at low temperatures, retaining the nutritional value of your dog’s food.

Both of our delicious natural diets are room-temperature stable. No freezing or defrosting required.

100% human-grade

We use the same human-grade ingredients that
you put on your plate. No preservatives, no fillers, no artificial nonsense.

Feeding your dog a healthy, nutritious diet will help to improve their overall health and wellbeing in lots of ways! Because the cold-pressing technique uses very low temperatures, the food retains its natural nutrients and oils.

  • Glossier coat: Retention of natural omega and essential oils help to hydrate the skin barrier.
  • Perfect for fussy eaters: Rich meaty flavours offer the fantastic taste of raw feeding.
  • Easier to digest: Cold-pressing reduces bacteria levels in the food, which makes it perfect for delicate tummies.

Yes! Ella’s cold-pressed food is proudly ranked #6 in the best low fat dog food out of 1300+ brands listed on the independent dog food rating website, All About Dog Food! Our chicken recipe contains 8.6% crude fat, and our fish recipe contains 11% crude fat.

The current veterinary recommendation for dogs with pancreatitis is to feed a diet containing less than 10% fat. Ella’s cold-pressed chicken recipe is safely under the 10% fat recommendation for dogs suffering with pancreatitis. We always recommend consulting your vet first before changing your dog’s diet, especially in cases of severe pancreatitis.

Due to their similar nutritional profile, cold-pressed food digests at the same rate as raw food. This means that the two diets can be easily fed alongside each other.

You might choose to mix them together, or you can feed one meal of cold-pressed, and the next meal raw.

As with any new diet, ensure you are giving your dog a phased introduction to avoid stomach upset.

How it’s made:

Both our freeze-dried and cold-pressed recipes use high quality, human-grade ingredients. The only difference is in the way they are made.

Cold-pressing uses low temperatures to gently press the food. Whereas freeze-drying removes 98% of the water using no heat, leaving a microbiologically raw nugget.

Both processes retain the natural nutrients, oils and flavours for your dog’s benefit.

Price:

Freeze-drying is a more complex process than cold-pressing and requires more complex equipment. As a result, the end-product is priced differently.

Storage:

Both foods are room temperature stable and can be stored in the cupboard! No freezing, no thawing, no special storage required.

Puppies:

Our cold-pressed food is suitable for puppies from 4 weeks of age. For young puppies, we recommend soaking the pellets in warm water for 10 minutes before serving to make a slurry. We would recommend freeze-dried food for dogs that are fully grown.
