Who doesn’t love pancakes?
Pancake Day is a great time to get creative in the kitchen, and with a few simple swaps, you can make a batch of dog-friendly pancakes that are both nutritious and delicious for your dog, too!
The Benefits of Dog-Friendly Pancakes
Homemade doggy pancakes can be a fun treat when made with the right ingredients. Eggs provide high-quality protein, calcium and essential amino acids, while bananas offer natural sweetness and a source of potassium. For toppings, Fat-free Greek yoghurt adds probiotics, supporting digestion and gut health. Plus, using James & Ella’s Freeze-Dried Raw Topper ensures an extra raw boost of nutrients to support overall wellbeing.
A Simple and Nutritious Dog Pancake Recipe
My dogs absolutely love these dog-friendly pancakes, and the best part is they’re packed with natural goodness and topped off with a delicious raw boost. Here’s a quick and easy dog pancake recipe that’s both nutritious and delicious:
Ingredients:
2 eggs
1 medium ripe banana
A dollop of fat-free Greek yoghurt
Optional: A sprinkle of James & Ella’s Freeze-Dried Raw Topper or crushed Freeze-Dried Treats for a nutritious raw boost!
How to Make Dog Friendly Pancakes
Mash the banana in a bowl until smooth.
Crack in the eggs (including the shell if you want – see my Top Tip at the end of this blog!) and whisk everything together.
Heat a non-stick frying pan on a low-medium heat.
Once hot, pour the mixture into the pan, 1-2 tablespoons at a time, cooking for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Let them cool and then dollop a spoonful of greek yoghurt over the top, and finish by dusting the pancakes with our Freeze-Dried Raw Topper to give your dog a delicious raw boost! You can also use any other dog-friendly toppings such as a drizzle of peanut butter (xylitol-free), or a few blueberries.
A Pancake Day Treat for Your Dog
Making pancakes for your dog is a fun and easy way to treat them while ensuring they’re benefitting from safe, nutritious ingredients. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to bond with your dog and involve them in a fun occasion with the family!
Remember, moderation is key, these pancakes should complement a balanced diet rather than replace their regular meals. But when made with healthy ingredients, they’re a fantastic way to add a little variety to your dog’s routine.
Let me know if you give this recipe a go, I’d love to hear your dog’s verdict! Did they wolf them down in seconds, or were they savouring every bite?
Until next time,
James x
